A delicious way to enjoy coffee as a morning smoothie or a mid-afternoon energy boost! Use Cafézia as your coffee of choice and you’ll get the energy without the crash, jitters or heartburn.
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Serves 1
Requires a blender
Ingredients
1/3 cup of espresso or Cafézia’s dark blend coffee (cold)
1 small frozen banana
2/3 cup of your favourite plant-based milk. We love cashew!
2 pitted dates (soaked in hot water to soften for at least 5 min)
2 tsp of cocoa powder
1 heaping tablespoon of your favourite nut or seed butter (we love almond butter, sunflower butter and classic peanut butter)
Bonus: We like to add a scoop of our favourite plant-based protein powder in chocolate flavour. If you do this, halve the amount of cocoa powder.
Directions
Add all ingredients to a blender and pulse until smooth. Enjoy all at once or save for in the freezer as a frozen scoopable treat.
Add ice if you need to thicken it.
Nada’s Tips & Tricks: My grandkids love smoothies and have inspired me to make my own. Since I LOVE my coffee, this recipe was perfect to satisfy that coffee-taste urge! Change up the milks and butters for different flavour profiles.
