from Steeves Maples
Using pure maple syrup makes all the difference in the world when making these iconic Canadian delights.
Ingredients
¼ cup softened butter
½ cups packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
½ tsp. lemon juice
Pinch of grated nutmeg
1 cup Steeves Maples 100% Pure Maple Syrup
1 cup raisins
18 tart shells unbaked
Directions
In a mixing bowl, cream together butter & sugar. Beat in eggs, vanilla, lemon juice & nutmeg, blend in maple syrup. Stir in raisins. Pour into unbaked tart shells.
Bake in 375F (190c) for 20 mins or until pastry is golden & filling has set. Makes 18 tarts.
Nada’s Tips & Tricks: An easy recipe that I’ve used many times. Change things up by replacing the raisins with dried cranberries or crushed nuts for Christmas or add maple bacon for summer bbqs. Divine!
