Rattlin’ Bog

Liz’s notes: I’d first named this drink “On the Barrens” because it was boggy and peaty and the blueberry juice reminded me of berry picking at Avondale. But a Labradorian friend and musician suggested “Rattlin’ Bog” after the Irish folk song. Thanks Devin, it’s a much better fit, considering Newfoundland’s musical roots.

1 oz Screech
2 oz blueberry juice
Birch Beer Crush

Add ice to a rocks glass. Pour in screech, blueberry juice and top with birch beer.

Nada’s Tips & Tricks: I couldn’t find birch beer so tried various additions and landed on the best combination – screech, blueberry/blackberry juice and Brickworks Cider House’s The Purple Road… serve over ice and you have a wonderful summer libation!
