from Poppy and the Woods Awaken
A favourite breakfast of Poppy and my grandkids!
Ingredients
1/4 cup all purpose flour
1 cup milk
3 large eggs
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
10 thick slices of bread *
*Preferably brioche or challah bread but can also be white toast bread
Directions
Whisk together the eggs, milk, flour, vanilla and cinnamon. Dip both sides of the bread slices in the milk mixture.
Heat a lightly oiled and buttered pan or griddle. Cook bread on preheated pan or griddle until golden brown on both sides.
Serve warm with maple syrup and a side of fresh berries. Crispy bacon pairs beautifully with this French toast.
Nada’s Tips & Tricks: Add a few assorted dipping sauces to the table…maple syrup with cardamom, warm chocolate with cinnamon, heated Nutella, etc. Of course, fresh fruit will make you feel better with all the indulgence on the plate!
