Use your Dulse Spice Blend on whatever is going on the BBQ even on your morning eggs or in a grilled cheese. The possibilities are endless. Be creative and adventurous. Get in the habit of keeping Dulse Spice Blend on the table instead of high-salt commercial spice blends. The following is a standard blend we enjoy.
Ingredients
1 cup (250 mL) packed very dry dulse
¼ cup (60 mL) dry coriander seed
1 tbsp (15 mL) dill seed
2 tbsp (30 mL) cracked flax seed
1 tsp (5 mL) mustard seed
2 tbsp (30 mL) cracked pepper
Directions
Place dulse and coriander seed on a good size sheet of wax paper. Fold in two and crush using a rolling pin or crush using a mortar and pestle.
Mix with all other ingredients. Pour into an empty saltshaker.
Nada’s Tips & Tricks: Once you’ve tasted this blend, start playing around with other ingredients to come up with different flavour profiles…lots of fun!
