Crazy Crunch

from Best of Bridge: Holiday Classics

Put this in fancy jars and give it as a little extra at Christmas time.

Ingredients

2 quarts popped popcorn

1 1/3 cups pecans

2/3 cup almonds

1 1/3 cups granulated sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 cup butter or margarine

½ cup corn syrup

Directions

Mix popcorn, pecans and almonds on a cookie sheet (use parchment paper, if desired).

Combine sugar, vanilla, butter and syrup in a pan. Boil 10-15 minutes or to a light caramel color. Pour over corn, pecans and almonds. Mix well.

Spread to dry.

Makes about 10 cups (2.5L)

Nada’s Tips & Tricks: Get the kids/grandkids involved and let them add fun ingredients like various cereals, other nuts and dried fruit, and bits of chocolate bars. Have them decorate jars or small boxes full of their creations to give to the special people in their lives…they’ll be so proud!
